Maureen was born and raised in the Philippines by her loving parents, who played a big part in inspiring her to become a nurse. As a small child, she would naturally care for her family members and friends. She showed thoughtfulness and sincerity while doing so, a trait recognized especially by her mother, who encouraged her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at De Ocampo Memorial College in Manila. After practicing for many years in the Philippines and in other countries, she settled in the United States, where she worked as an ER and ICU nurse for 25 years. Her love and passion for her profession pushed her to pursue further studies at Northern Illinois University, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Maureen is very hardworking and pays close attention to detail. She is attentive and responsive when assessing a patient’s condition, and she ensures that her patients’ needs are met with compassion and positivity every time. She is also an excellent team player who gets along well with her coworkers. She exhibits leadership while observing collaborative practices to improve the quality of the health care she provides. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease.
Outside of work, Maureen enjoys singing, cooking, baking, and gardening.
